UTILITY VINTAGE MARKET, SATURDAY 18th JULY 2009, CITY BAR, CITY ROAD, CHESTER

UTILITY VINTAGE MARKET PRESS RELEASE

On Saturday, July 18th 2009, Holly Ashbrook, Mike Devoy, Alex Dooley and Matt Adams of Chester based promotions company "Utility Promotions” held a Vintage fashion and lifestyle fair at the City Bar, City Road, Chester. The fair began at noon and ended at 6.00pm. Between those six hours, City Bar was a hive of activity. The bar was transformed into a labyrinth of stalls, brimming with vintage clothing, antiques, bric a brac and handmade clothes and accessories. “The Twilight Corner” in Newtown and “Sequins” in Rufus Court were among many of the stalls involved in the event.

“The vibe in the bar is amazing! Everyone, both customers and stall holders seem really content with being here today. In regards to the stalls, there is a sense of team effort and encouragement present, and everyone wants everyone else to do well in custom” – Holly Ashbrook, Utility Promotions.

Charity shop, Cancer Research, located in Watergate Street also brought along their retro wears along and made just under £200.00!

The stalls were set up on both floors of the bar, cult films were played throughout the day alongside nostalgic music from Northern Soul to Rock n Roll.

Some customers even travelled to the event from Chester’s neighbouring cities, Liverpool and Manchester, hearing about the fair via the online blog and through word of mouth.

The weight of the world was certainly shaken off as people walked into the bar. Customer feedback was extremely positive; one lady added “This is exactly what Chester needs right now. I cannot wait for the next event”. She won’t have to wait very long.

The next Utility Promotions event will be the second “Utility Vintage Market” held in the City Bar, City Road, on Saturday 15th August, 2009.
