I-Dspirational
MILLY MC MAHON - Featured in I-D June/July 2009 issue.
The epitomy of the word "cool", this little weirdy would be Dan Ashcrofts worst nightmare. Not only does she look effortlessly amazing dressed head to toe in "chazza shop chic", she also interns for I-D which makes me sick with jealousy.
I think her best advise in this months I-D is probably " DONT GO TO A HAIRDRESSER...EVER. HAS ANYONE HONESTLY EVER LEFT THE HAIRDRESSERS PROUD OF THEIR NEW DO? JUST DONT " and we all know she is right.

"IN THE CLOSET" - A TRIBUTE TO THE LATE MICHAEL JACKSON
The "King of Pop" was not only renowned for his music, but also his iconic, eclectic style and distinguished appearance. Often critisized for his dramatic re - inventions, Michael Jacksons ever changing image makes him one of the worlds most publicised and controversial style figures in the history of fashion.

WE WANT YOU
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
VINTAGE FASHION FAIR
18TH JULY 2009
CITY BAR, CITY ROAD
CHESTER
We are hoping to put on a vintage fashion fair at the City Bar on the afternoon of Saturday 18th July.
We foresee great music, good people, crazy clothes, collectables, records and we are even hoping to get a few charity shops involved too.
As it is a Saturday afternoon, we realise that vintage boutique owners may be working, so we have trustworthy volunteers at hand waiting to represent you and your shops, feel free to organise your own volunteers.
We will not be charging stall holders, this event is purely to promote your shops and labels and to have some fun in doing so!
We are sticking our fingers up to highstreet uniformity, supporting eclectic fashion and embracing nostalgia!
If you are interested, please e-mail Holly or Alex at: utilityclothing@hotmail.co.uk

Introduction
"GET A LIFE : YOU GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN" - Vivienne Westwood
At around the age of 14, not only did I develop tits, but also a voice, both of which seemed to have just appeared one day. Since then, things have been problematic; I have never been one for being able to keep things to myself.
I have this ability to talk the talk. I have spent the passed six years of my life wishing that I lived in a more "happening" place. My romantic views on life in a big city has made me feel bitter towards Chester. I have always wanted to love where I live, but never allowed myself to do so.
The fact of the matter is, I have never actually got up off my arse to contribute anything to the city myself.
I study a degree in Fashion Promotion. I do it because I want to be the person to bring down Topshop. I am also interested in popular culture and of course clothes. I have a strong lust for David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed and think music should be sexy again.
This summer, I am working alongside three like - minded individuals who believe that there is more to the city than just Jack Wills and Romans. Fashion and music go hand in hand, so what better way to celebrate our interests than to make the most of what we have around us and to promote that as much as we can?
We are chronically vomiting ideas at the moment and want to get as many people involved as we can, so we can make the project as successful as possible.
"Utility Clothing" is the sister blog of "Utility Promotions". Focusing mainly on fashion, our blog will be updated regularly with street style photographs, photoshoots, articles, adverts, interviews and Utility event updates.
